Rixos Eskisehir in Bademlik Eskişehir was put into service on June 20. Rixos Eskisehir was built by Polimeks, one of the biggest global contracting companies of Turkey, and is managed by Rixos Hotels, the first and only global hotel brand of Turkey. The opening ceremony took place with the participation of Prof. Dr. Yilmaz Buyukerşen, Metropolitan Mayor of Eskişehir; Erol Tabanca, Chairman of Polimeks; and Fettah Tamince, Chairman of Rixos Hotels. Many guests from the business circles and social life were present at the opening, including the former Turkish Parliamentary Speaker Hüsamettin Cindoruk, Governor of Eskisehir Azim Tuna, the former Education Minister and the founder of Anadolu University Prof. Dr. Orhan Oğuz.
Rixos Eskişehir was built on the land owned by the Metropolitan Municipality of Eskişehir in Odunpazarı district, which is one of the prominent centers of Eskisehir with its touristic infrastructure. Rixos Eskişehir is intended to use and further increase the tourism potential of the city in the most proper ways. At the opening ceremony, Erol Tabanca, Chairman of Polimeks, expressed his happiness that the project whose construction began in 2012 is now put into service: “We are here today for the inauguration of our thermal hotel project whose foundation we laid two years ago. We convened here with you at the groundbreaking ceremony of this project two years ago and told you about the added value this project will bring to Eskişehir. Now, we have made our dream come true at this Rixos establishment.”
Tabanca remarked that the thermal potential of the Bademlik region is not utilized sufficiently and said: “With this project, we aimed at making the city a center of attraction thanks to its thermal potential. At the very beginning, when we were first devising this project, we worked toward making the thermal infrastructure of the region available both to the residents of Eskişehir, and to domestic and foreign tourists. Our objective is not simply to attract tourists but having a facility which the residents of Eskişehir will make use of.”
Fettah Tamince, Chairman of Rixos Hotels, said that their priorities as Rixos Hotels is to discover new and alternative destinations and to contribute an added value to the region: “Tourism has moved beyond being a sector dependent on bed and room capacities only. The historical, cultural and social texture of the destinations where facilities are located is at least as important as the services provided by the hotels. This is why we are very happy of taking a step in Eskişehir, which is both historically, culturally, and socially a significant city, together with Polimeks with whom we have collaborated in various projects.”
Tamince expressed the excitement they feel for flying the flag of Rixos that extends across three continents, from Antalya to Dubrovnik, from Astana to Konya, from Dubai to Davos, from Sharm El Sheikh to Sochi, and now in one of the important cities of our history, Eskişehir: “We will contribute to the tourism and economy of Eskişehir with this award-winning project that was built meticulously in Bademlik.”
