Awaza PWA World Cup 2014 is concluded
The competitions at the Awaza PWA World Cup Turkmenistan, one of the most important windsurfing organizations of the world, are completed. The competitions witnessed great contentions during the six days that the event was organized with the sponsorship of Polimeks at the Yelken Yaht Club, the first marina in the region. Delphine Cousin claimed her maiden event victory on the PWA World Cup in women's fleet in Awaza, and Cyril Moussilmani finished the competition at first place climbing to the top after completing races successfully in men's fleet.
A total of 71 windsurfers from 22 countries participated in the World Cup and in the finals, Delphine Cousin won the first prize, making a good start to the year. Valerie Ghibaudo showed fantastic board speed and climbed to the second place. The Turkish athlete Lena Erdil secured the third place with her quick moves; she had completed the races in seventh place last year.
Cyril Moussilmani assumed the position of tour leader in men's fleet. Pierre Mortefon rose to the second place and Matteo Iachino now occupies the third place in the races this year in Awaza. The next organization of the PWA World Tour will be held at Gran Canaria between 14-20 July.
