Turkmenbashi and Awaza Sewerage and Water Treatment Facility

The facility is serving the recently created Awaza National Touristic Region and Turkmenbashi city as part of a large project including the water distribution and sewerage infrastructures.

Under this project 350 kilometers of drinking water and sewerage pipes were laid and a biological domestic wastewater treatment facility, with a daily capacity of 70,000 m3, was built. Other works completed under the project include 12 wastewater pumping stations with a total daily capacity of 280,000 m3, a biological treatment waste water inflow, coarse and fine screens, four reservoirs each with a capacity of 43,500 m3, refining membranes, sludge dewatering facilities and fully automatic PLC SCADA systems, drinking water pumping stations with a daily capacity of 2x12,000 m3, and supporting facilities including the Turkmenbashi Water Administration building, a central laboratory and repair and maintenance workshop, power distribution units, generators and landscaping works. The facility also has the capacity to produce 75 m3 of chlorine per day.
