“The National Music and Drama Theatre”, known as the “Magtymguly Theater”, is located in one of the liveliest districts of Ashgabat. Magtymguly Pyragy is 18th century poet, one of the most important figures of Turkmen poetry famous for the social content of his poems.

Features of the Building: The theatre hall was designed as a multi-purpose hall, with a capacity of 576 on the ground floor and 224 at the balconies, with a total audience capacity of 800. The stage has a rotating platform with a diameter of 9 meters in the middle and a 55 square meters orchestra pit that has a lift set up. The stage has a total size of 450 square meters and use counterweight system with 15 pieces for the organization of the theatrical scenery. The building is constructed in the classical style, its dome and white marble columns on its façade are remarkable.
