Turkmenistan State Archives was constructed for the storage, classification and maintenance of all kinds of documents such as paper documents, audio records and video records. The building includes all types of technological equipment and hardware as may be required for the maintenance of the archives in the best condition. The building’s main components are the archive division which includes storage chambers appropriate for the systematic storage of paper, audio and video materials, a large exhibition area where important documents are displayed, and a conference hall. The building sits on a construction area of 1,037 square meters and has a total area of 8,000 square meters. The building’s chambers for top secret and important documents are adorned with sophisticated fire protection systems that prevent any damage to the paper documents by reducing oxygen level in the chamber in case of a fire.
